The Los Angeles Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals season 2019-20 for the first time in a decade on Saturday with their 117-107 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals. THE LA LAKERS WILL PLAY THE WINNER OF THE EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS, THE MIAMI HEAT. THE HEAT LEADS THE SERIES, 4-2, IN SUNDAY’S GAME 6.

Both the Los Angeles Lakers and Lebron James are back in the NBA Finals. Los Angeles took the victory, giving the Denver Nuggets no chance at another 3-1 comeback series win. The Lakers — led by a huge 38-point triple-double from James — defeated the Nuggets 117-107 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night. James praised the Denver Nuggets and their coach, Mike Malone, for bringing out the best in him and his team, knowing they needed the push if they are going to take that necessary next step to win it all.

Star player LeBron put up 38 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists. After missing the playoffs in his first year with the Lakers, James is back in familiar territory. This will be his 10th NBA Finals appearance. He has won three NBA titles, two with the Miami Heat and one with the Cleveland Cavaliers. “We’re going to enjoy it tonight, as we should, because this is not promised every year,” LeBron James said on the TNT broadcast. “We’re going to enjoy it tonight, but we understand that we got bigger fish to fry,” he added.

As for the Denver Nuggets, nobody bet for the Nuggets to be in the conference finals and the team was able to surprise the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round. Unfortunately, playing with fire by going down 3-1 in a series can only work out so often. The Denver Nuggets weren’t able to pull off another come-from-behind series win. Jamal Murray finished with 19 points and Nikola Jokic made 20 points in the Game 5 loss.
