SCROLL

Today has been a great day especially for Swifties as Ms. Taylor Alison Swift surprised us with her 8th studio album entitled ‘Folklore.’ The American singer-songwriter released her entire brand new album of songs and according to her, she has poured all of her whims, dreams, fears, and musings to it. She proves to us again why she’s one of the best lyricists of this generation.

Taylor Swift’s last and 7th studio album, Lover, was released on 23rd of August, 2019. The quality of music and production gained praise and positive reviews from critics, as usual. And talking about what will her next masterpiece is, she already gave us hints through her Instagram activities. The Folklore has 16 songs on the standard edition (The 1, Cardigan, The Last Great American Dynasty, Exile, My Tears Ricochet, Mirrorball, Seven, August, This is Me Trying, Illicit Affairs, Invisible String, Mad Woman, Epiphany, Betty, Peace, and Hoax), but the physical deluxe editions have a bonus track entitled, ‘The Lakes.’ Taylor Swift said on her Instagram post, “Because this is my 8th studio album, I made 8 deluxe CD editions and 8 deluxe vinyl editions that are available for one week. Each deluxe edition has unique covers, photos, and artwork. Available exclusively at taylorswift.com.” It is also available at the cassette edition of Folklore.

This album was written and recorded in isolation with the help of other artists like Aaron Dessner (a member of the rock band, The National), Bon Iver (American Indie Folk Band), and Jack Antonoff (lead singer of Indie pop band, Bleachers). Then the album photos were shot by the help of Beth Garrabrant.

Cardigan

The official music video of ‘Cardigan’ was also released today. Taylor Swift is the one who amazingly wrote and directed it all herself. She said that the entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector and everyone followed the health protocols. She even did her own hair and make up.

“Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much,” Taylor Swift said.
